For the past 37 years, the game of darts has been more than just a hobby—it has been a lifelong passion that has shaped friendships, taught discipline, and fueled my competitive spirit. As someone of Scottish and Italian heritage, I grew up appreciating traditions that value community, respect, and healthy competition. Those values have stayed with me throughout my journey in sport, inspiring me to give back to a game that has given me so much.
When the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the country, many of the restaurants, taverns, and social clubs that proudly hosted dart leagues and tournaments were forced to close their doors. Even after reopening, many establishments believed the excitement for organized competition had faded. I believe the opposite is true. The passion is still there—it simply needs a place to grow again.
That belief is why I founded the Think Outside the Box LLC Tournament of Darts Association. My mission is to restore competitive darts throughout South New Jersey while creating opportunities for players of every skill level to compete, improve, and become part of a welcoming community. Whether someone is throwing their very first dart or has decades of experience, there is a place for them in our association.
One of my greatest goals is to mentor the next generation of dart players. Young people today need positive activities that teach patience, focus, sportsmanship, and confidence. Darts is a sport that develops all these qualities while bringing people together across generations. It is a game where age, background, and experience matter far less than dedication and the willingness to learn.
As our association grows, we hope to partner with local businesses, veterans' organizations, community centers, and youth programs to help rebuild the competitive dart scene that once flourished in South Jersey. By creating leagues, tournaments, instructional clinics, and community events, we can once again make darts a sport that people are excited to play and watch.
To every player who has put away their darts, and to every newcomer who has wondered what sport is all about, I have one message: now is the time to return to the oche. Together, we can rebuild a thriving dart community, create lasting friendships, and inspire a new generation of competitors.
The future of darts in South New Jersey starts with all of us. Stay sharp, stay focused, and always stay on point.

A New Home for Competition, Community, and Fun
Something exciting is taking shape for local darts enthusiasts.
Think Outside the Box LLC Tournament of Darts Association (TOTB TODA) is currently in negotiations with a local diner to establish a new home for the organization—and if everything comes together, it could create a unique destination where competitive darts, great food, and community spirit come together under one roof.
TOTB TODA was created with a simple vision: to think outside the box when it comes to competitive darts. The organization is focused on bringing players together, creating exciting tournament opportunities, and building an environment where both experienced competitors and newcomers can enjoy the game.
Now, the possibility of partnering with a local diner could take that vision to the next level.
A permanent home would give TOTB TODA the opportunity to host regular tournaments and events in a welcoming, comfortable setting. Players could compete, socialize, enjoy a meal, and connect with fellow darts fans—all in one location. For spectators and newcomers, it could also provide an easy way to experience the excitement of organized darts without feeling like they have to already be part of the scene.
The potential partnership could be beneficial for everyone involved. TOTB TODA would gain a consistent location to grow its tournament program, while the diner would have the opportunity to welcome a new audience of players, families, friends, and supporters.
And this isn't simply about throwing darts.
At its heart, TOTB TODA is about community. Darts has a unique ability to bring people from different backgrounds together in a friendly but competitive atmosphere. Whether you're a seasoned tournament player chasing the next big win or someone who simply wants to pick up a set of darts and give it a try, there's a place for you at the oche.
Details of the potential partnership are still being worked out, and no final announcement has been made. However, the conversations represent an important step forward for TOTB TODA and its goal of creating a recognizable home for organized darts in the local community.
